Mini Holiday

My husband and I recently went to our favorite local restaurant and once again had a fabulous time. We have been going there since it opened in 2007.  Maybe you have heard of it? Bistro Basque.

We love this restaurant, when you walk through the front door you are transported to the Basque region, the food is simply wonderful and the ambiance is just charming.

The staff is very attentive to your every need and they are always happy! Nothing is worse than going to a restaurant and having a person serve you food that, you can tell, doesn’t want to be there. The owner is also there on a regular basis, walking through the restaurant greeting guests. He is very nice and genuinely concerns himself with your experience at his establishment being a positive one. Also the chefs’ consistency is impeccable, he uses very simple, very fresh ingredients and he delivers every time. By the time dinner is through you feel like you have been on a mini holiday to the Basque region. For these reasons I have listed we frequent this establishment often and we have introduced many of our friends to this precious gem. Quite a few of our friends that we introduced to Bistro Basque are from out of state. When my husband and I go to dinner here we usually will take pictures on our iPhones of us having Mojitos or eating our desserts and send them to our friends to tease them a little (don’t you wish you lived closer, LOL?). It’s all in good fun.

Everything on the menu is yummy but these are our favorites.

Picodon — Baked goat cheese toasts, grilled tomatoes, Provencal herbs

Artichokes

Artichaux sautés– Artichokes sautéed in capers and white wine sauce

Flank Steak

Steak au poivre — Flank steak, pepper sauce served with gratin and ratatouille

And don’t forget to order a Mojito!

Basque Mojito
